We did not get to see very much around the Coos Bay area due to the very bad weather which was a shame as there were some places I had wanted to see such as the Oregon Dunes National Recreation area. Watch this You Tube, it's only a minute long.

On the one dry day when John was not working we did get to go to Sunset Bay State Park and Shore Acres State Park. Not sure which we were in as they seemed to join up. They were set along the wild rugged coastline and we found a great hike that followed the cliffs. There were some very sketchy drop offs but the views were amazing.
On a section of the walk high up on the cliffs we saw a seal down below on the rocks. We thought she may have been stuck or was injured but when we walked returned later she was gone.

Can you spot her? |

There she is! |
Further along the coast we parked at a special viewing point at the top of the cliffs and watched hundred of seals and sea lions. They were very far out on the rocks but we could still hear there barking calls. This was another time that even though we used my small Cannon camera I wished I had a big camera and long lens. Here are some pictures, some look bit hazy due to poor light and the distance.

Looks like rocks and beach but look close you can see them |
That morning we had also seen our first coyote running along the beach next to our rv. We have seen some amazing wildlife this year.
