We drove south to the town of Eureka to visit the Sequoia Park Zoo and the Redwood Skywalk. I had seen some information in a leaflet about the skywalk amongst the redwoods and thought it looked cool. Before going I did not know it was part of the zoo and that it was set on the edge of the town, I had a picture in my mind of somewhere in the middle of the thousands of acres of forest. When we discovered where it was I was not too sure but we ended up having a great time despite it being pretty cold.
The Skywalk was very good though not as long as I imagined. It was cool that except for the small swinging bridge section it was all ADA accessible.
Lots of pictures!

One legged poses are very in fashion all the birds are doing them these days! |
We walked along to the Carson Mansion and Carson House, also known as The Pink Lady.
The Carson Mansion is a large Victorian house located in Old Town,Eureka,California. Regarded as one of the highest executions of American Queen Anne style architecture, the house is "considered the most grand Victorian home in America." It is one of the most written about and photographed Victorian houses in California and perhaps also in the United States. Originally the home of William Carson, one of Northern California's first major lumber barons, it has been a private club since 1950. The house and grounds are not open to the public.
