We left Colorado after 7 weeks and drove north to South Dakota. The route took us through Wyoming which was such a different state after the mountains of Colorado. The prairies looked liked God's golf course, grass, sand patches and bumpy mounds for as far as the eye could see.

This goods train must have been 2 miles long! |
We only stayed at Angostura Recreation Area for one week as the parks here do not have water hook ups. We knew we could fill our tank beforehand with fresh water for washing, and dishes and we took lots of gallon jugs of water for drinking but we were unsure if this would be enough for two weeks so thought it best to experiment with one week. It worked fine and we did not run out.
John took the week off and we loved having time to explore. We also had an appointment to get our driving licenses and we completed the transition to becoming South Dakota residents.
