Despite no cell service, the broken Starlink and the poor weather Cape Disappointment has been my favorite stop so far.
The wild beautiful beach reminded me so much of Northumberland beaches and being able to take Morgan there for a walk two or three times a day was such a treat. Some pictures look very grey and moody, no special effects there were just a lot of grey days though we did get some blue days and a few amazing sunsets

The beaches were full of driftwood, from small pieces to huge tree trunks |
Some driftwood looked like modern sculpture |
One looked like a guy reclining |
This was our first day when the tide was coming in and we saw the tree stuck upside down |
Another day the tide was out and we could walk through to the other side |
Wow! |
Stormy day the tide was right up to the beach path |
Each time we walked on the beach would be a new experience, the change in weather and light, more driftwood deposited, the tide high or low. |
There were some great hikes on the park and we enjoyed one on a grey chilly morning that took us through pine forest to Dead Man's Cove past the Lewis and Clark Interpretive Center to Cape Disappointment Lighthouse.

We were lucky with our timing as the tide was coming in fast as we got to Dead Man's Cove, we had just long enough to take a few pictures before the wild waves engulfed the small beach. I wish the pictures could have not captured the power and sound of the waves crashing into the cove.
The steps down intu the cove were extremely sketchy |

John had to time his dash between waves to get to the far side of the beach |

Cape Disappointment Lighthouse |
We got back to the truck and moved to a car park with a view of the lighthouse. We set up to make camp coffee then intended to drive to the Northern Lighthouse and have a walk around that area but the rain got very heavy and we decided to head home.
Two evening's sunsets.
