Port Townsend and Port Angeles, Washington State

 Saturday October 28th 2023

We took a long drive to the north of the Olympic Peninsula. The geography of the area makes driving from a to b very long. When planning our stay in this area I had wanted to stop on the peninsula so we could easily explore but all the State Parks camping were closed for the season.

We had planned to just head to Port Angeles which was about 80 miles away but after getting my haircut and talking to the hairdresser she suggested stopping at Port Townsend too. I am glad we did as we much preferred it there and if we had only gone to Port Angelese I would have felt the long drive had been a waste.

Port Townsend was a cute small town with a few tourist type shops and eating places. At the end of the town was a very small rv park and marina that would be cool to stay at with a small rig. We walked up and down the main street and a small jetty with a whale and saw the ferry leaving for Seattle. We were going to have a snack but decided paying $8 for a croissant was too much so we stopped at a Safeway on the way out and grabbed some muffins and coffee.

These teeny tiny huts are holiday lets! I presume for very very small people.

We asked Morgan if doing this appealed to her......

We then drove to Port Angelese which was a disappointment. There was not a lot of businesses open, looks like the tourist economy was not great. We had a small walk around but there was not too much to see.
